SALISBURY STEAK

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 lbs. lean ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup cooked rice (in future I will use ½ cup of uncooked rice)
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tbsp. mustard
  • 2 tbsp. dry ranch dressing

  • Mix all of these ingredients together and shape into patties about an inch thick. You should get about 10. Fry for 5 minutes on each side. Remove from skillet and keep warm.

  • In the skillet put:

  • 1 can mushrooms or sliced fresh ones
  • 2 tbsp. Worchestshire sauce
  • 3 cups beef broth

  • Simmer for a few minutes and put the patties back in and cook for 15 minutes. Put the patties on a platter, and keep warm.
  • Combine 3-4 tbsp. water and 2 tbsp. corn starch. Mix well and stir into the sauce. Stir until thickened and pout over the patties.
