Cake Balls

When you make these for a fundraiser you need to be responsible and only have one, one, maybe two, okay three but three is the limit, right?
INGREDIENTS
  • Cake mix
  • Eggs
  • Frosting
  • chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles are optional but a necessity
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. These cake balls are so very simple to make and since I don’t put them on a stick they are quicker to pull together.
  2. Bake your cake as you normally would.
  3. Allow it to cool and go wild.
  4. Grab your knife, fork or your hands and start tearing it up.
  5. Add three large tablespoons of frosting to the mix.
  6. Keep folding it together and roll into balls.
  7. I normally place them down on a piece of wax paper over on a cookie sheet.
  8. I freeze the cake balls for 20-30 minutes.
  9. Once the cake balls are really cold and almost frozen I start to melt my chocolate chips.
  10. A tip to making good chocolate is to warm your chocolate chips.
  11. Don’t turn them up on high to melt it quickly.
  12. Slow and low would be perfect.
  13. To dip the frozen cake balls in the chocolate I usually use a lollipop stick.
  14. I use another stick to push the ball off the stick down on to the wax paper to firm.

If you intend of using sprinkles you need to put them on while the chocolate is still warm. You should always intend on using sprinkles. A world without sprinkles is not a world I want to live in. haha
When all the cake balls have been dipped you can pop them back into the freezer to harden up. Once they have you can wrap them or place them in cupcake wrappers to make them fancy. We like our cake balls fancy in this house, how about you?
