CHICKEN STUFFED PEPPERS WITH WHITE SAUCE









Ingredients:
1 pack of 4 peppers 1 1/2 cooked chicken breasts chopped 1 cup chopped onion 1 can mushrooms sliced 3 tbs. Kraft French onion dressing 1/2 cup grated cheese
Cut the tops off the peppers, Chop into tiny pieces. In a skillet put the dressing, onion, chicken, mushrooms and pieces of peppers. Cook for 15-20 minutes, being careful not to let the mix get too dry and burn. (Use a little water if needed). Add 1/2 cup of grated cheese and stir in. Stuff the peppers and place in a greased baking dish. Let bake for 30 minutes at 325 degrees. Pour white sauce over the top and continue baking for another 30 minutes.
White sauce directions.
Melt 3 tbs. butter or margarine over a low heat. Stir in 2 tbs. flour and 1/4 tsp. salt. Keep stirring for 5 minutes. Slowly add 1 cup of milk, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth and thickened. Add 1 tsp. onion powder and 2 tsp. chives.
